CATALYST, Currents Dance Theatre’s 2026 concert, is an electrifying celebration of dance in Grand Rapids. Featuring a diverse repertoire of varying styles and formats with guest artists from local performance groups Dance in the Annex and Essence Movement Collective, this concert has something for everyone.
As Currents continues to establish itself as Grand Rapids’ resident contemporary dance company, this concert honors the passion and growth poured into the organization during its early years. Expect an evening that embodies how movement can be a catalyst for joy, community, and social change. We can’t wait to celebrate the third season of Currents Dance Theatre with you.
Currents Dance Theatre is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that relies on community support to pay our professional artists, cover theater and technical costs, and support our general operations. Your generosity allows us to connect the Grand Rapids community to contemporary dance, building community, starting conversation, and elevating local art.
CDT is dedicated to making dance financially accessible to our audiences. This year, we are partnering with local nonprofit organizations to give free and low cost tickets to our Grand Rapids community.
We are also continuing partnerships with local dance studios- offering discounted group tickets and complimentary master classes leading up to the performance where young dancers are able to learn portions of the work being performed in the show.
